Lithium-ion batteries always constitute dangerous goods in general. According to our experience and in accordance with the determinations laid down so far by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), appropriate protection must be provided as a means of protection for lithium-ion batteries, cells or modules. Depending on the type of batteries, we recommend a minimum layer of approximately 100 mm of the special extinguishing agent PyroBubbles®. For applications in the field of lithium-ion batteries, the extinguishing agent PyroBubbles® has been structurally remodified, so that an optimal absorption of escaping electrolyte is guaranteed.

The special solutions marketed by us under the product name GENIUS Transportbehälter for the collection and transportation of lithium-ion batteries are comprised of different components and are specifically designed as an overall concept of material and technical implementations and form comprehensive and internally coordinated systems. This applies in particular to the areas of electrolyte absorption and the controlled escaping of gases. For safety engineering reasons, using PyroBubbles® in conjunction with the transport of lithium-ion batteries in non-coordinated containers is prohibited.
