GENIUS Plastic Transport Containers Packaging Group 2

The GENIUS plastic transport containers are defined for damaged and defective lithium-ion batteries/modules. The necessary safety (layer thickness of PyroBubbles®) depends on the cell chemistry, mass and condition of the batteries or modules. The filling and emptying process is designed for easy handling.

3 different packaging concepts:

1. the powder-coated steel inner basket (Advanced and Premium) ensures that the safety distances between the load and the outside of the container and the floor are maintained, ensuring an optimum level of safety at all times. The inner basket is permeable to any escaping electrolyte.

2. The Basic version is only equipped with GENIUS filling pads and serves as minimum protection for the load.

3. in the Advanced version, the load can simply be removed with the basket, leaving the PyroBubbles® as bulk material in the box.

Cushions are used in the Basic and Premium versions. These cushions are surrounded by thin, needled polyethylene (PE) film and filled with PyroBubbles®.

If necessary (thermal runaway), the film dissolves and the PyroBubbles® extinguishing agent unfolds its full effect.
